What is the RCM Foundational Scholarship?
In order to adequately benefit all segments of US society, Muslims must be engaged within a wide array of professions. Certain professions, such as medicine and engineering, have currently become overly saturated with Muslim involvement at the expense of other, equally important professions. Thus, in order to encourage Muslims to pursue occupations that are in high-demand within our community, the Roswell Community Masjid has created a scholarship to aid beneficiaries with the financial demands associated with education.
The purpose of this scholarship will be to target need-areas within the Muslim community. Thus, financial aid will be granted to prospective students intending to study professions currently in high-demand in our community. These professions include politics, law, criminal justice, journalism, writing, social science, and religion studies, among others.
What are the minimum eligibility requirements?
Applicants to the RCM Scholarship must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, 20 general community service hours, and be 17 years of age or older. The Scholarship must be used towards “higher education,” loosely defined a bachelor’s degree or above. Additionally, the applicant must be working towards a degree within a high-need field in the American Muslim community.
