RCM’s Essentials for Qur’an course caters specifically to Sisters wishing to learn proper Qur’an recitation with tajweed. Moreover, the course aims to give Sisters an introduction to understanding Arabic by studying a collection of Dua’a. Some classes will include basics for writing Arabic as well.
Lessons are built around the “Nuraniyah” methodology of teaching Qur’an and Tajweed. The curriculum is flexible and allows students of any level, including those with no prior knowledge of Arabic, to learn, practice, and improve their skills. Classes are organized by level and students must complete an evaluation prior to the start of the semester.
This course runs on a semester schedule and registration opens prior the start of each semester. Students may choose between Sunday and Weekday classes. The current class schedule is:
Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00-10:30
Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:45-12:15
Sundays from 2:30-4:00
The cost is $150/semester per student for intermediate level classes (22.5 hours of instruction) and $105/semester per student for beginner level classes (15 hours of instruction). Tuition costs include textbooks and supplies.
